Quicksand (Peanut Butter Dip with Breadstick Hands)
From razzledazzlerecipes.com. 8-10 min bake (breadsticks). 9 ingredients
Ingredients
- 3/4 cup creamy peanut butter
- 5 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1 jar (8 ounces or 1 cup) pineapple preserves
- 1/3 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- Dash hot pepper sauce (optional)
- 1 can (7 ounces) refrigerated breadstick dough (6 breadsticks)
- 5 rich round crackers, crushed
- Cut-up vegetables such as carrots and celery, or fruit such as apples and pears, for dipping
Directions
- Heat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment.
- Beat the peanut butter and cream cheese in a bowl until smooth, then beat in the pineapple preserves, milk, Worcestershire sauce and hot pepper sauce if using.
- Spoon the dip into a serving bowl, cover, and refrigerate while you make the breadsticks.
- Unroll the breadstick dough and separate it into 6 strips. Flatten one end of each strip and cut 4 short slits into it to make fingers, spreading them slightly to look like a hand.
- Place the hands on the baking sheet and bake for 8 to 10 minutes, until golden; cool slightly.
- Just before serving, sprinkle the crushed crackers over the dip to look like sand.
- Poke the breadstick hands into the dip so they appear to be sinking, and set out the vegetables and fruit for dipping.
