Julie's "Clif" Bars

From Julie. Serves 16 bars. 18 ingredients

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350*. Line a jelly-roll pan with parchment paper. Mix the first five ingredients on the parchment paper and toast in the oven for 25 minutes.
  2. Meanwhile, combine the remaining ingredients in a saucepan over low heat. Stir until melted, then turn off the heat (do not boil!). Pour into blender and pulse a few times until the dried fruit is coarsely chopped.
  3. Line a 9x13 pan with parchment paper, leaving enough overlap to be able to grasp the parchment paper after the bars are cooked.
  4. Remove the oat mixture from the oven and reduce the heat to 300*. In a large bowl, combine the oat mixture and the wet ingredients. Turn mixture into lined 9x13 pan and press firmly (a good silicone spatula works well for this). Bake for 15 minutes.
  5. Remove from oven and allow to cool for 5 minutes. Cut into bars but leave in the pan to finish cooling. When cool, lift the parchment paper out of the pan and separate the bars. Store individually in Ziploc bags or together in an airtight container.
