Cinnamon Roasted Nuts
From Good Cheap Eats. 15-20 min bake. 6 ingredients
Ingredients
- 2 cups of almonds, pecans, or walnuts – roast each type of nut individually
- 1 tablespoon agave or honey
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 1/2 T. cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne powder
Directions
- Heat the oven to 325°F (165°C) and line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment.
- In a bowl, stir together the agave or honey, oil, cinnamon, salt and cayenne.
- Add one type of nut and toss until every piece is evenly coated.
- Spread the nuts in a single layer on the sheet.
- Roast for 15 to 20 minutes, stirring halfway, until fragrant and a shade darker; watch the last few minutes closely since the sweetener burns quickly.
- Let cool completely on the pan, where they will crisp up, then break apart any clusters and store airtight.
- Repeat with any other variety of nut, roasting each kind separately since they brown at different rates.
